Servers and Shutting Down

There are many different types of servers, in all different shapes and sizes.

We understand that when carrying out Portable Appliance Testing, servers are a very sensitive area for your business and can often cause delays if switched off. For larger premises that rely on a server, we often carry out visual checks on servers, and although this is adequate, we do encourage all our customers to make time for us to test servers.

There are several ways around this (which may not be applicable to all customers) which include requesting an earlier start time. We can attend most sites as early as 8:00 a.m. which ensures we can test any servers before your staff officially start work at 9:00 a.m. – this reduces any delays for both our technicians and your staff. Another way would be to request our technicians to test servers during lunch periods or during less busy periods in the day.

You can also speak with our admin team and request an out-of-hours appointment to cover your servers, this is a straightforward process and we are happy to cover both evenings and weekends. This may also coincide with your maintenance inspections.

Lastly, it is worth mentioning that most of our customers get their servers fully tested every five years and then have visual tests carried out in between this as the equipment is not often used and is rarely moved around.

If you would like to talk to us about PAT testing, or other electrical services please contact us, our friendly team look forward to hearing from you.
