PAT Testing & Electrical Services in the South West

We offer PAT tests for equipment in almost every type of working environment, across the board. Here’s what you can expect from our PAT testing offering:

PAT – or Portable Appliance Testing – is a combined visual and electrical check carried out by our experienced technicians, to make sure electrical appliances are safe to use.

While this is not a legal requirement but it does give you peace of mind that you have done all you can to eliminate risk: that’s risk of fire, electric shocks or burns.

To carry out electrical appliance testing, we carry out a visual check, looking for everything from cracks or flaws in casing or insulation to loose screws inside the plug.

Following this we utilise market-leading equipment to carry out an internal check on the electrical appliance.

Only when we are satisfied the appliance is safe, will we apply a ‘passed safety check’ sticker.

Once we’ve inspected, tested and certified it, you will have the confidence you have done everything to make sure your electrical equipment is safe.

If needed, we can schedule a rolling programme of regular visits for your property – we’ll come more frequently, conducting electrical appliance testing for a smaller number of items each time.

If it’s got a plug on it, we can PAT test it. Talk to our expert team today.

How Often Should PAT Testing Be Done?
  • The frequency of PAT Testing depends on the environment and type of equipment. For example, appliances used in high-risk settings (like construction sites) might need testing more often than those in low-risk environments (like an office). Commercial PAT Testing & Electrical Services in the South West

Commercial

If your business is office or retail based, you will have electrical equipment – from printers to projectors, computers to coffeemakers, and they all need PAT testing.

We can conduct electrical appliance testing in any commercial setting with minimal disruption to you. We work around your schedule, allowing your business to carry on as usual.

Our staff are trained in customer service, using a friendly and professional approach as they work their way through the site.

Construction

Whether you run a large construction company or are a self-employed tradesperson, you will need to schedule regular electrical appliance testing appointments to ensure you’re working in a regulated and safe environment.

Our staff have all relevant PPE, including hard hats, toe-capped footwear, goggles, ear defenders and work clothing to offer full protection. Furthermore, the equipment we use is battery-powered and market-leading, enabling us to efficiently make our way around the site, without getting in the way of daily operations.

We respect there may be hoops to go through before our team can access your construction site. However, we can work around this by scheduling your electrical appliance testing offsite, at a depot, or your home.

Domestic

If you own property that you rent out – whether that is a single bedsit, several houses, or an HMO (houses of multiple occupation) – you will have electrical equipment that needs PAT testing.

Whether the property is unfurnished, so only white goods need testing, or fully furnished with many appliances, we offer a service for landlords who want to complete electrical appliance testing between or during tenancies.

Education

Schools, colleges and universities can have thousands of electrical items that need PAT testing and we take into account that they are busy environments where the timetable has to run like clockwork.

We also understand that bodies such as Ofsted and the HSE demand high standards and that PAT testing is one area that cannot be overlooked.

So we will draw a PAT testing schedule which takes advantage of holidays, ensuring most of our work is done out of term time, to create minimum disruption.

Hospitality

Whether you own a small bed and breakfast, a luxury hotel, a pub, or a fine-dining restaurant, you need to schedule regular electrical appliance testing across various items to ensure the safety of your customers.

With hotels, we work with the inhouse teams to ensure we get everything done in a timely manner and are in and out of bedrooms quickly, when they are unoccupied.

With restaurants and pubs, we ensure we schedule our visits to suit, avoiding the busy lunchtime periods. Our staff are trained in customer service, using a friendly and professional approach as they work their way through the venue.

Industrial

If you own or run industrial premises you will have electrical appliances that need PAT testing.

Whatever the size of your manufacturing operation – a small metal foundry or a car manufacturing plant – we can help, working around you to keep disruption to a minimum.

All the equipment we use is battery-powered and market-leading, so we can work efficiently around the site and don’t impact on your work or get in your way.

Our staff have all relevant PPE, including hard hats, toe-capped footwear, goggles, ear defenders and relevant work clothing to offer full protection.

Medical

We will PAT test all the electrical appliances for a range of medical establishments – including labs, GP surgeries, dental practices, and NHS settings.

Our priority is to provide a service that creates minimum disruption for you. As such we will fit in with your working day, including working around appointments, or visiting out of hours during evenings and weekends.
